Warsaw Police make arrest in alleged weekend rape.

Warsaw Police have made an arrest in an alleged weekend rape. On Saturday evening, March 30, 2013, Warsaw Police were called to meet the victim, an adult female, who advised that she had been assaulted and raped near Fort Wayne Avenue, near downtown Warsaw. The victim told police that she was walking to meet friends at the Detroit Street McDonalds when a male in a black hooded sweatshirt started to follow her. The suspect caught up with her and forced her between houses on Fort Wayne Avenue, where he forced sexual intercourse with her and then let her leave. As police searched the area, they received a tip of a possible suspect that was staying two (2) houses north of where the incident occurred. Police made contact with Anthony J. Fulton, 24 years of age, of 221 N. Fort Wayne Avenue, Warsaw, IN. and initially arrested him on charges of possession of a synthetic drug after officer’s located paraphernalia and a substance believed to be synthetic cannabinoids. The subsequent investigation provided probable cause for the arrest of Anthony J. Fulton for rape and criminal deviate conduct by force. Anthony Fulton is being held at the Kosciusko County Jail on a $50,000 bond. Warsaw Police was assisted in their investigation by the Kosciusko County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. Nothing further.
