On Monday, April 1, 2013, at 2:33 p.m., Warsaw Police were called to the Super 8 motel after the grandfather of a fourteen (14) year old girl called police after he walked in on a sexual encounter between his granddaughter and a 33 year old family friend. Warsaw Police interviewed the fourteen year old and found that on several occasions within the past month, the suspect had sexual intercourse with her at various hotels and other locations in and around Warsaw. It is illegal in Indiana for any child under the age of sixteen (16) to consent to any sexual activity. The charge of child molestation occurs in cases where the child is under the age of fourteen (14).
