Operation Take Back NJ
Attention all Lyndhurst Residents
On Saturday, April 27, 2013 the Lyndhurst Police Department will be participating in Operation Take Back New Jersey. This campaign, which is being coordinated with the Drug Enforcement Administration, gives our LOCAL RESIDENTS opportunity to dispose of their unused, expired, and unwanted prescription medications. The drop off location for this event will be at the Lyndhurst Police mobile command post which will be set up in the shopping plaza parking lot at:
425 Valley Brook Avenue between 10 A.M. – 2 P.M.
This program is anonymous and made to protect the anonymity of individuals disposing of medications. No questions or requests for identification will be made. Individuals will be able to deposit medication freely and independently.
Law enforcement officials will not count, inventory, or log medications. Law enforcement personnel will not handle any medications.
The individual may dispose of medication either in its original container or by removing medication from its container and disposing directly into the drug disposal box. If the original container is submitted, the individual should be encouraged to remove the prescription label if it contains any personal identifying information.
Liquid products, such as cough medicine, should remain sealed in their original container. The depositor should ensure that the cap is tightly sealed to prevent leakage.
We are unable to collect syringes on this date.
