On 04/01/2013, after a year long investigation, the Palos Heights Police Department announces the arrest of Kenneth MARTIN (DOB:02/08/1979). In April 2012, the Palos Heights PD learned from 2 former Chicago Christian High School students, that while still students at the high school in 2009, they each engaged in inappropriate relationships with their music teacher, Kenneth MARTIN, during which time his full legal name was Kenneth WHITNEY. During the investigation, it was learned Kenneth MARTIN’s relationship with the victims progressed into a physical sexual relationship, with one of the victims being 16 years of age at the time.
During the past year, the Palos Heights Bureau of Detectives, were assisted by the Orland Park Police Department and Chicago Regional Computer Forensics Laboratory, who forensically analyzed numerous amounts of electronic equipment in this case. During the investigation, there was no evidence to indicate that MARTIN engaged in inappropriate behavior with any other victims, and MARTIN is no longer a teacher at Chicago Christian HS.
On 04/01/13, the suspect Kenneth MARTIN, of the 1500 block of W 83rd Pl, Chicago, IL was arrested, and subsequently charged with Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse, after presenting the case to the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office. On 04/02/13, MARTIN was transported to the 5th District Courthouse in Bridgeview, IL, where during a hearing his bond was set at $100,000/10%.
