Incident Date: April 2, 2013
Incident Time: 2:02 p.m.
Incident Location: 1300 block of Windsor Drive, San Dimas
Suspect: Brandon Tyler, Male, Age 31, Booking #3514708
At about 2:02 p.m. on April 2, 2013, a 9-1-1 call was made to San Dimas Station. The victim resident, a female adult, called 9-1-1 to say that a male just broke through a sliding glass door to the rear of her single family home. Upon becoming aware that the victim was home, the suspect aborted the burglary and walked down the side yard to the front of the location. An arriving Deputy Sheriff saw the suspect emerge from the side of the house and ordered the suspect to stop. The suspect turned and ran back into the rear yard, and then climbed over the rear wall. The deputy broadcast this information via Sheriff’s radio, and containment was established. The search indicated the suspect fled into the rugged brush and terrain of the adjacent Walnut Creek Park.
The deputies conducted a foot search of Walnut Creek Park. A deputy located the described suspect hiding in the brush, and he was taken into custody without incident. He was positively identified by the victim, and by the deputy who saw him at the scene. The suspect, identified as Brandon Tyler, was currently on parole for burglary. He was booked for Residential Burglary at the San Dimas Station jail, where he is being held without bail.
