Graffiti “Free Wall”
As part of its ongoing efforts to combat graffiti in our city, the Dallas Police Department will host the opening of a graffiti “free wall” at 621 Fabrication Street on April 13, 2013 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. The intent of the free wall is to provide a legal alternative for graffiti artists to express themselves. The concept of a graffiti free wall was advocated by Dallas City Council Member Delia Jasso as part of her anti-graffiti initiative started in 2009. Dallas attorney John Barr was selected by the Dallas City Council to coordinate its anti-graffiti efforts and he has also played a key role in having the free wall realized. Local graffiti artists participating in the anti-graffiti initiative will be in attendance to help open the free wall for use. The Dallas Police Department invites everyone to the opening to show support for the city’s anti-graffiti initiative.
