The Grapevine Shield Foundation is proud to host their 4th Annual Softball Challenge between the Grapevine Police (Watchmen) and the Grapevine Fire Dept. (Smoke Eaters) on Saturday, April 13 at 7 pm at Oak Grove Ball Field B, 2520 Oak Grove Loop South, Grapevine.

The Watchmen and Smoke Eaters will battle it out in this fourth annual Police vs. Fire Softball Challenge to benefit the Grapevine Shield Foundation. The softball challenge will kick-off with a home run hitting contest, followed by the game. Many local businesses have generously donated wonderful prizes which will be raffled or placed in a silent auction during the game. These items include 4 tickets to an Indy car race at TMS, stays at the Gaylord and other hotels and meals at local restaurants.

This fund-raising event for the Grapevine Shield Foundation is taken seriously by the Police and Fire Departments with a friendly rivalry between these groups who frequently work together to protect the safety of our community. These teams support the Grapevine Shield Foundation who will provide financial support to Police Officers and Firefighters (and their families) if they are injured or killed serving our community.

This year the Shield Foundation has started a scholarship program for the children of the Police and Fire Department employees. Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded this year.
