UPDATE: The officer has been released and is at home.
Approximately 10:15 a.m. officers responded to a shooting call at 12300 Hoblitzelle Dr. Upon arrival, they saw a pregnant female who was shot. A witness inside of the location heard the complainant yell out the name of the suspect who shot her. The witness looked out of the window of the residence and observed the suspect driving away from the location. A description of the suspect's vehicle was transmitted over the radio. At approximately 11:53 a.m., officers observed the suspect driving and attempted to stop him. The suspect refused to stop and a vehicle chase ensued. In the 12000 block of Bellafonte the suspect shot at officers who were pursuing him. Officer Daniel Malouf, #9458, sustained one gunshot wound to the lower abdomen. Officer Malouf was transported to Medical City Hospital in Dallas in good condition. He is expected to be released soon.
The vehicle chase continued until the suspect abandoned the vehicle at 12300 Schroeder Dr, where he ran inside of a residence. The suspect has barricaded himself inside of the residence and Dallas Police SWAT Unit has been called to the location.
The complainant, Breshuana Jackson, B/F 04/13/85, and the fetus are deceased. Next of kin notification has been made.
