Boston Marathon Bombing Incident
The Vernon Police Department has been monitoring information from the Los Angeles Joint Regional Intelligence Center (JRIC) and Joint Terrorist Task Force (JTTF) concerning the bombing incident at the Boston Marathon today.
As you may have heard, before 3:00 p.m. (1200 PDT) on April 15, 2013, witnesses reported two explosions near the Boston Marathon finish line. Reports indicate at least three fatalities and a number of injuries. Boston Police and allied Federal agencies are actively conducting an investigation into this incident. Based on information provided for law enforcement, there are no known direct threats involving our business community or in the Los Angeles region. The Vernon Police Department has increased patrols around our critical assets.

Police staff will continue to monitor information provided by JRIC and JTTF to ensure we have current information available to share with our community if needed.
