Two County Pursuit Leads to Felony Methamphetamine Arrests

At 8:26 p.m. on Tuesday, April 14, 2013, Warsaw Narcotics and Kosciusko County Drug Taskforce officers went to a mobile home park on County Road 100 South about four (4) miles west of Warsaw to serve warrants. As officers were at the location, they observed a green Pontiac drive up and then quickly leave as the occupants observed police. The vehicle started driving away throwing items associated with Methamphetamine manufacturing out the windows. Police attempted to stop the Pontiac but the vehicle fled at speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour. The nine (9) minute pursuit went down County Road 100 South to State Road 25 through Mentone and into Marshall County. The Pontiac then stopped near Apple Road and State Road 25 and two (2) male suspects gave up to police and were taken into custody without further incident. Warsaw Police arrested the driver, Chase J. Burnau, 19 years old, of Akron, IN on class B felony charges of dealing/manufacturing Methamphetamine, class D felony possession of Meth precursors, and a class D felony fleeing law enforcement. A passenger in the Pontiac, 58 year old Michael N. Raider, of Stanton, Kentucky, was charged with dealing/manufacturing Methamphetamine, and possession of Meth precursors. Both suspects are being held at the Kosciusko County Jail without bond. Warsaw Police were assisted by the Kosciusko County Drug Task Force, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, Indiana State Police, Mentone Police, Akron Police, Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, and the Kosciusko County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
