Franklin Township Police is requesting that two individuals who assisted in rescue on April 12, 2013 come forward.
On April 12, 2013, at 1:06 PM Patrolman Kevin Bollaro responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident on Sidney Road. Investigation revealed that a sixty-two year old Califon man was traveling southbound on Route 617. The driver attempted to avoid striking a deer that had entered the roadway. The vehicle left the road striking a tree and sustained heavy front-end damage. The vehicle caught on fire and the male was still inside. The two unknown individuals pulled the victim from the burning vehicle and placed him next to it. Upon Patrolman Bollaro's arrival he assessed the victim and determined the subject could be carried a safe distance from the burning car. Patrolman Bollaro along with the assistance of Special Officer Kevin Richards and Patrolman Matt Thompson of the Town of Clinton Police Department, kept the fire under control using department-issued fire extinguishers until the Quakertown Fire Company responded and took over the scene. Without the assistance of these two unknown individuals the victim surely would have sustained life-threatening injuries. The Franklin Township Police is requesting that the two individuals who assisted Patrolman Bollaro come forward to be publicly recognized for their brave and heroic efforts to save the driver, by calling Patrolman Dominick Zeveney, Officer in Charge. He can be reached at 908-782-9594
