Members of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Plastic Industrial Theft Task Force, assigned to Industry Sheriff’s Station, located a warehouse exploited to stow and grind stolen trademarked plastic products in the. Most of the products were found intact, while some had already been ground in an effort to make them untraceable. The stolen products were valued at approximately $30,000.

In addition, $60,000 in miscellaneous equipment used in the illegal operation was seized. The discovery was made by Task Force members as a result of a lengthy investigation and after serving a search warrant at the location.

No suspect(s) were arrested and the investigation is on-going.

The Plastic Industrial Task Force is completely funded by the City of Industry and has been in operation since September of 2011.

Since its inception, task force members have recovered and returned over 7 million dollars in stolen trademarked plastic products to victimized businesses, arrested 71 suspects involved in the theft and/or the possession of stolen trademarked products. Sheriff’s task force members have also seized numerous pieces of equipment utilized in the illicit locations, and they have identified and shut down 29 locations utilized to stow, grind and prime for sale, intact and/or ground stolen trademarked plastic products.
