On April 28, 2013, at approximately 12:28 a.m., officers received a call to respond to the area of Route100 and Route 97 for a report of a shooting. The officers canvassed the area and located the 18-year-old male victim in the area of Route 100 and Route 170 in a vehicle on the side of the road. The victim had sustained a minor flesh wound in the upper extremity from a bullet.

During this time, Western District officers received a call from a citizen who reported hearing two shots in the area of the 1500 block of Monard Avenue in Severn. It was learned that the victim was shot on Monard Avenue. Officers responded to Monard Avenue and located evidence in the roadway in the 1500 block of Monard Avenue.

Further investigation revealed that there was a party in the 1500 block of Monard Avenue. The victim drove to this location and became involved in a verbal argument, which escalated into the suspect shooting the victim. The suspects fled the scene after the incident. The victim was taken to Johns Hopkins and was listed as in stable condition. The investigation is ongoing.
