Sequim Elk Herd close to Hwy 101 - Drive Carefully
The Sequim elk are back in the danger zone.
In the last 4 hours the elk moved across West Sequim Bay Road and travelled southeast toward Highway 101. By 8:30 AM this morning they crossed Johnson Creek. At present they are between Johnson Creek and Whitefeather Way, about 200 yards from Highway 101.
This is the time of year the elk usually cross to the south side of the highway. So motorists should be alert for elk along the stretch of 101 between Happy Valley Road and the Sequim Bay Lodge.
