Illinois Vehicle Code 625IVC 5/12-610.1(e) prohibits motorists from using a wireless telephone while operating a vehicle in a school zone. Drive Safely!
The statute reads "Any person, regardless of age, may not use a wireless telephone at any time while operating a motor vehicle on a roadway in a school speed zone." Even parked, if on the roadway, you are still in control (operating) of the vehicle.
