In conjunction with the Governor's Highway Safety Program, the Lake Lure Police Department received a new and much needed, Alco-Sensor FST at no cost to the department. This mobile field sobriety testing system is key to keeping intoxicated drivers off our town roads.
The system was obtained from LLPD's stats during such campaigns like "Click it or Ticket" and "Booze It & Loose It" as well as local Checkpoints the department conducts during the year.
Acting Chief Sean Humphries stated, "This system cost hundreds of dollars and is a key tool for our Officer's. We were very fortunate to have qualified for it this year."
The FST will be operated by Patrol Officer Zach Walker.
