- We had several calls about night time helicopter flights. This was Boston Med Flight night vision training out of Stow Airport. They conduct this training every few months. Training is completed.
- People may have heard my comments to the Selectmen about my initial research on the impacts to public safety. Here is what the news paper did not print:
“I can only report to the facts and findings of my initial research. My personal opinions and feelings towards such an establishment are irrelevant as my main concern is the safety and security of those who reside and visit Boxborough. It is my sworn oath of office to protect the community AND protect the communities constitutional right to exercise their lawful freedoms i.e.; to have or not to have such an establishment. If the discussions continue, I will prepare a comprehensive law enforcement evaluation of this proposal and the potential effects to Boxborough and surrounding communities.”
The Selectmen are not advocating or proposing such a development, but, in keeping with the participatory nature of town government, have asked residents to express their opinions to the Board. The Selectmen would like to thank those residents who have taken the time to provide their input and welcome further comments from the community.
The Board will meet at 6 PM on Monday, May 13 in the Blanchard School Gymnasium and about 6:15 PM will take up the matter and vote on whether or not to investigate further. The meeting will adjourn no later than 6:45 PM in order not to conflict with Town Meeting, which takes place in the gymnasium, starting at 7PM.
