AVOID S 6th St from Olive St to Hibbs Blvd from 8-9:30 AM for the MACS 5K run/walk event today, 5-18-13 
The Marshalltown Police Department will be closing a portion of S 6th St from Olive St to Hibbs Blvd on Saturday May 18, 2013 from 8:00 to 9:30 A.M. This road closing is due to the Marshalltown Area Catholic Schools 5K Run/Walk event.
The Police Department will have officers manning barricades at both ends of the race course. Additional officers wil also be posted at Westwood Dr, Southridge Rd & Nicholas Dr to help ensure that the participants can safely complete the event.
The Police Department is asking that residents who live along or utilize S 6th St please take an alternate route to your destinations during the 8-9:30 A.M. time period. The Police Department will reopen the roadway for normal driving upon the completion of the event.
Residents who have signed up to receive notifications through the Nixle warning are receiving this reminder of the street closing.
The Police Department wants to thank everyone in advance for their patience and help with making this event a safe and fun one for those who are taking part in it.
