Today the Chisago Lakes School district conducted an evacuation drill for the schools in the district. With the recent issues of school violence that have been in the news, the school district in cooperation with the Lakes Area Police, Chisago County Sheriff's Office and Chisago County Emergency Management conducted the drill to ensure students, faculty and first responders were familiar with policy and proceedures to ensure a rapid lockdown and orderly evacuation of the schools.

The average time from the start of the lockdown to an evacuated school was less than 13 minutes. Students later returned to class, finshed the school day and were released on time.
