District Attorney Files Battery on Flag Football Coach
The Los Angeles County District Attorney filed one count of Battery on a Sports Official on a Flag Football Coach in the Newhall Superior Court today. The incident occurred on April 20, 2013, at the Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation West Creek Park (24247 Village Circle, Valencia) during a flag football game for children ages 12-14. One of the coaches, Ahje Palmer, Male, 34 years-of-age, resident of Castaic, was upset about a call and walked onto the field while the game was in progress. He confronted the 17 year-old referee in the middle of the field yelling about a call. He then struck the referee once in the face knocking him to the ground.
Parks Bureau Detective Bureau conducted a thorough investigation contacting numerous witnesses to the incident which resulted in today’s filing.
