Vineland Office of Emergency Management


Periods of heavy rain and intense winds have been forecast for the greater South Jersey area. This is not a time for alarm, but a time to prepare for possible adverse conditions on Thursday, June 13, 2013 during AM and PM hours.

The following radio stations will provide official information, as needed, from the Vineland office of Emergency Management:

Updates and other official OEM advisories will be posted on the City of Vineland web site at

or by calling 2-1-1. 2-1-1 will assist you with the registration process.


An emergency preparation kit should include a battery-powered radio and flashlight with extra batteries, a first aid kit, sufficient amounts of prescription medications, a list of the style and serial numbers of any medical devices used or needed, a supply of ready-to-eat non-perishable foods, bottled water, a non-electric can opener and clothing. Alternative electricity sources and generators should be in safe, operating condition with all users properly trained. The car gas tank should be filled prior to adverse weather. Charge all battery-operated devices that may be useful in the event of power loss. Make a list of phone numbers of people in your neighborhood and check on each other to be sure everyone is safe and well. Remove or secure any objects that can be lifted and moved by strong winds.
