ARRESTS MADE IN RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES
On Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at approximately 12:38 p.m., officers from Western District were dispatched to the 1600 block of Dunstable Green in Annapolis, for report of a burglary that just occurred. While responding to the area, information was provided by the complainant that was relayed to responding officers describing the suspect vehicle as a white Ford Expedition. A short time later, an officer observed the suspect vehicle traveling north on I-97 near Rt. 32.
The officer followed the vehicle as it exited I-97 onto westbound Route 32. Additional officers and detectives then took up stationary positions along Route 32 to assist in effecting an investigative traffic stop on the suspect vehicle. As the vehicle was approaching the exit for Telegraph Road, several officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the suspect vehicle at which time the vehicle came to an abrupt stop with two passengers fleeing the vehicle on foot into a wooded area nearby.
The officers and detectives exited their patrol vehicles and pursued the suspects into the woods. After a brief pursuit, both individuals that had fled into the woods were apprehended. Both suspects were arrested and transported to Western District police station for processing. The driver, who had remained in the vehicle at the time of the traffic stop, was also arrested and transported to Western District police station for processing.
A subsequent investigation found property to include jewelry and money inside the suspect vehicle that was positively identified as belonging to the residents on Dunstable Green. Furthermore, there was additional jewelry recovered from inside the vehicle that was stolen earlier in the day during a burglary that occurred in the 1000 block of Double Gate Road in Davidsonville.
