EAPD would like to welcome Ptlm. Steve Cartwright to the Department. Steve recently graduated from the Police Academy and is now starting his field training & evaluation requirements. During the 22 weeks at the Erie County Law Enforcement Academy Steve was awarded a Certificate of Leadership as a squad leader, and was first in his class in proficiency skills, which covers such topics as firearms, 1st aid, emergency vehicle operation and other tasks needed to be a Police Oficer. After completing the Academy requirements Steve will be patrolling with a Field Training Officer for the next 12 weeks, who will put the skills acquired to practical and legal use as well as indoctrinating him to the community in general. Steve is a life long resident of East Aurora, graduating from East Aurora High School and attaining a BS at Hilbert College, majoring in criminal justice.
