PHONE SCAM ALERT – Solicitation for Police Donation 
The West Monroe Police Department has received information about an unknown telemarketing firm who is contacting residents on their home telephones and fraudulently soliciting victims for donations to local Police Departments.
The West Monroe Police Department does NOT utilize these types of services to solicit for donations.
It is unclear at this time who or what party is soliciting for the donations, however they are falsely representing themselves along with which organizations they support.
The West Monroe Police Department strongly cautions residents that they should NEVER reveal personal financial information to someone over the phone. They should never provide the calling party with their social security number, credit card or any banking information.
