CDS ARREST GLEN BURNIE
On June 16, 2013, at approximately 2:59 a.m., an officer assigned to the Northern District midnight shift was on routine patrol in the Point Pleasant community in Glen Burnie, Maryland. The officer was at the intersection of Genine Drive and Furnace Avenue and observed a vehicle in the roadway. The officer stopped to investigate and determined there was a lone occupant in the driver seat of the vehicle, who appeared to be passed out while the vehicle was running.
Once the officer was able to wake up the driver, the officer eventually developed probable cause to conduct a search of the car. During that search, the officer located a total of 590 pills that were separated by type and packaged for sale. The total value of the pills was estimated to be worth $2, 727. The occupant of the vehicle was arrested and charged with various drug offenses. The 2007 Hyundai was seized for asset forfeiture.
