The Santa Cruz Police Department received three reported sightings of a Mountain Lion (Puma) this morning in the the following locations:

200 block California Street
300 block of Continental St
300 block of Dufour St

A Mountain Lion was reported last week in the area of Felix Street int he Neary Lagoon wooded area.

We are in contact with the California Dept of Fish and Wildlife,l and the UCSC Puma project to attempt to locate this animal

Residents are encouraged to secure pets and small children and contact 9-1-1 if the animal is sighted.
