Lawndale, Safe and Sane fireworks are the only legal fireworks allowed in Lawndale. Do not use illegal fireworks.
The City of Lawndale and the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department wish you a happy and safe 4th of July. In the City of Lawndale, "Safe and Sane" fireworks are the only type of fireworks that are legal. Safe and Sane fireworks can be purchased from an authorized vendor at a Safe and Sane firework stand located throughout the City of Lawndale. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department will be patrolling your neighborhoods to ensure illegal fireworks are not used. Anyone found guilty of violating the city's fireworks code could be fined and/or arrested. Our main concern is that everyone is safe during this 4th of July.
There are only certain dates and time that legal fireworks can be used. No legal fireworks may be discharged within the city prior to 12:00 noon on July 4th or after 1 a.m. on July 5. It is also unlawful to discharge fireworks at any time within or upon a city park.
Illegal fireworks include firecrackers, bottle rockets, sky rockets, mortar rounds, roman candles or any fireworks that are not registered as "Safe and Sane."
The Fourth of July is the celebration and federal holiday commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, declaring independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain. It is commonly celebrated with fireworks, barbecues, parades and family reunions.
Have a "Safe and Sane" Fourth of July. Do not use illegal fireworks.
