Seizure of Large Quantity of Illegal Fireworks by #LASD in San Gabriel Valley (Photos)

TIME: 8:30 pm

LOCATION: 1400 block of Sandia Avenue, West Valinda (unincorporated community)

In the evening hours of Wednesday, June 19, 2013, Industry Sheriff’s Station Violent Summer Crime Enforcement Team deputies saw males igniting what they believed to be illegal fireworks in the street. Three males were arrested for being in possession of illegal fireworks.

After further investigation, they saw an open residential garage which contained what they believe to be numerous boxes of illegal fireworks. A subsequent search warrant was served at the residence.

As a result of the search warrant, approximately 3,000 pounds of illegal fireworks were seized. The names of the three suspects are not being released at this time, since this is an ongoing investigation. The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded and took possession of the seizure.

The use of illegal fireworks is dangerous and storing these fireworks in a residential /populated area puts innocent people at risk.

If you know of any such risk to the community, please call your local Sheriff’s or Police station. Or if you wish to remain Anonymous, call “LA Crime Stoppers” by dialing 800-222-TIPS (8477), texting the letters TIPLA plus your tip to CRIMES (274637), or using the website http://lacrimestoppers.org
