Fruitport Township Police Department is investigating a larceny from a vehicle complaint in the area of Wilson Road and Mergener Road (which turns into 130th Avenue in Ottawa County). Police were first called to a residence in this area on 06/11/2013. The victim reported valuables were stolen from a vehicle parked in the driveway of the residence sometime during the prior night.
The victim installed a hidden surveillance camera after this incident which captured images of male subject attempting to break into the vehicle again in the early morning hours on 06/18/2013.
A third incident at this same address took place in the early morning hours of 06/26/2013. The victim noticed the dome light was on in the victim’s vehicle – which was parked in the driveway of the residence. The victim went outside and discovered a male subject near the vehicle. The victim confronted the male subject who fled on foot from the area of the residence to a nearby vehicle. The subject then fled from the scene in the vehicle.
Police are releasing the attached images from the victim’s surveillance camera in an effort to identify the male subject depicted in the images. Police are continuing to review additional images from the surveillance camera and may be releasing additional images at a later time.
No further information regarding this investigation (including the specific location of the incident, victim name, items taken, description of the suspect vehicle, etc.) is being released by police at this time.
