Illegal Fireworks- What are they? 
Fireworks, other than City sponsored, 4th of July display are illegal if the firework(s) explodes or leaves the ground. Each year the Police Department receives countless reports and complaints about people doing their own fireworks displays.
Each year hospitals report injuries to people who are lighting off illegal fireworks.
The fine in the City of Ripon for use of illegal fireworks is $263.50.
