In the early morning hours of July 1, 2013, Century Station deputies responded to the 1500 block of 92nd St, in the unincorporated Firestone area regarding a burglary in progress.
The victim was awoken by the sound of a loud bang. She looked out the window, and saw that her car window was shattered and a male Hispanic was leaning into her car. She told her boyfriend who then called 9-1-1 to report the incident. The witness also spotted another male who was standing on the corner acting as a lookout. The witness stayed on the telephone with Century desk personnel while he directed deputies to where the two young men were walking.
Responding deputies spotted the two subjects and detained them pending a burglary investigation. The witness positively identified both the subjects. Found in their possession were items that belonged to the victim. The victim identified and recovered the items.
While questioning the two regarding the incident, they admitted they wanted to get something to eat but had no money. They hatched a plan to break into a car and steal someone’s belongings then sell them for five dollars.
The two juveniles were arrested for conspiracy to commit burglary and burglary. They were later transferred to the custody of Los Padrinos Juvenile Hall.
