Due to the weather predicted for the 4th of July, the City has made the decision to postpone the fireworks display until Saturday, August 31st. The forecast is for severe weather, therefore our concern is for the safety of our residents, staff and performers.
The City did not take this decision lightly as the 4th of July fireworks is our premier event each year. With predicted rain and thunderstorms there is a possibility of a large crowd without adequate shelter.
Please let your neighbors and friends know that the fireworks display is postponed, but to join us on Saturday, August 31st, as we kick-off the Labor Day weekend with the fireworks display.
The 4th of July Parade will be held as planned with the Parade line-up beginning at 9:15AM at Avondale High School. The Parade will begin at 10:00AM, proceeding up Clarendon Avenue to the Clock Tower.
