Town of North Castle: Heat Advisory and Storm Warning
An excessive heat warning remains in effect until 8PM this evening, with heat index values between 100 and 105. Be sure to drink plenty of water and limit your time outdoors, especially in direct sunlight. Persons overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location, or taken to an air-conditioned environment. Heat exhaustion and heat stroke are true emergencies; call 9-1-1 in these circumstances.
There is a severe thunderstorm warning in effect for Saturday, July 20th through early Sunday morning. The storm is expected to be slow moving and will bring wind, heavy rains, lightning, and may cause flooding conditions. Wind speeds may gust to 50MPH at times, potentially causing trees and power lines to fall. The heaviest impact is expected between 2PM and 8PM on Saturday. Temperatures are expected to drop into the low 80s after this storm passes.
