La Mesa Police Pursue Stolen Vehicle
On 07/21/13 at approximately 8:00 AM, La Mesa Police officers responded to a radio call of a suspicious vehicle in the 4200 block of Lowell Avenue. Witnesses reported seeing three males dump a motorcycle and flee in a silver Honda Civic. As officers arrived, the suspect vehicle fled the location and failed to yield to officers. A vehicle pursuit ensued.
The pursuit continued northbound on Baltimore Drive into the City of San Diego where the suspect vehicle collided with a raised median and guardrail at Lake Aral and Lake Murray Blvd. The suspect vehicle was occupied by three males who fled on foot following the crash. SDPD officers as well as SDSO’s ASTREA assisted La Mesa Police with the search for the suspects. One of the suspects was apprehended as he tried to flee the scene. The other two suspects are still outstanding. A follow-up investigation by LMPD officers revealed both the motorcycle and the Honda Civic were stolen vehicles. No officers were injured during the pursuit.
Boone BLANKATZ (05/23/87) was arrested and booked at San Diego County Jail on the listed charges:
• 496(d) PC – Possession of a Stolen Vehicle
