AMERICA’S NATIONAL NIGHT OUT AGAINST CRIME
TUSTIN, Calif. – On August 6, 2013, The Tustin Police Department will participate in the 30th Annual National Night Out (ANNO). Sponsored by Target and The District at Tustin Legacy, the event will take place from 5:30pm until 8:30pm at The District, located at 2300 Park Avenue. Booths and static displays will be in the Target parking lot.
National Night Out is an event in which the citizens of Tustin get together to take a stand against crime, learn more about crime prevention and mingle with law enforcement personnel in a more casual environment. National Night Out is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention; generate participation in local anti-crime programs, strengthen neighborhood spirit, improve police and community partnerships, and most importantly, send a message to criminals that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
In addition to the law enforcement portion of the event, there will be activities for children. Some of the activities will include face painting, games and a bounce house. Children will also be able to have their photo taken with one of our officers.
Businesses from The District will be in attendance, and some of the restaurants will provide samples from their food menu. Opportunity Drawings will be part of the evening, along with static displays including police, fire, and military vehicles.
There will also be a number of Community Based Organizations at the event providing information on the services they can provide to local residents. Some of these organizations will include the Autism Society of Greater Long Beach, Lion’s Heart Tustin Teen Group, the Orange County Council on Aging, the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill, and the Tustin Family & Youth Center.
Entertainment will be provided by the Tustin Dance Center, Improv City (comedy), and West Coast Taekwondo. Music will be performed by the band, Onecargarage.
National Night Out will be both educational and entertaining for the entire family. National Night Out is a free event and we hope to see you there.
