On March 13, 2013, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Joseph Chavez was commended for his act of heroism on May 27th, 2012 while working at Parks Bureau. His actions resulted in saving a baby’s life that otherwise would have expired without the employee's direct involvement.
