WRPD SEEK SUSPECT IN ASSAULT
ATTENTION NIXLE CRIME SOLVERS!
The Wisconsin Rapids Police Department needs your help.
At about 8:00pm the Wood County Dispatch Center received a call of an assault that just happened a few minutes before in Wisconsin Rapids.
At about 7:45pm on July 26th, 2013, a 60-year old female was walking on 5th Street North near Poplar Street near the Forest Hill Cemetery in Wisconsin Rapids. The reporting female advised the WRPD Officers that she noticed one younger white male person about 19-20 years old with sandy brown hair wearing a white sleeveless t-shirt and black shorts in that area. The female victim advised that the male came up from behind her and grabbed her from behind and held on to her. The female victim screamed and was able to get away uninjured, returned to her house and contacted police. Following the assault, the male suspect ran towards the east towards the cemetery and beyond a tree line to where the victim could no longer see the suspect.
Officers from the WRPD and the Wood County Sheriff’s Department K9 team did search the area but were unable to locate this male suspect. Arrow on map shows incident location.
