Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a man on Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at approximately 8:40 PM, in the 1900 block of 71st Street, unincorporated Florence / Graham area of South Los Angeles.

Detectives have learned that residents in the neighborhood heard what they believed were fireworks. When they checked for the source of the noise, they saw the victim lying on the street in the 1900 block of 71st Street, South Los Angeles (Co.), suffering from gunshot wounds.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

There is no suspect information available.
