ROAD CLOSING
County Road 396 or Broughton Road, between Prairie & Redwood will close on August 5, 2013 for a bridge replacement.
There is no passable route through the construction zone. Do Not drive around the barricades.
The contractor is Reece Construction Co. Inc., Scandia KS. The cost to replace this bridge was bid at $87,588.00 and has 120 working days to complete the project.

Expect delays and consider planning an alternative route.
This bridge replacement project will last through at least December. Continued wet weather may delay the completion date.
Travelers should use Highway 24 for eastbound travel during this construction period. The gravel roads in the construction area are winding, hilly and not suitable for heavy traffic, especially during wet conditions.
Watch the Clay Center Dispatch and listen to KCLY radio for updates to the construction on the Broughton Road.
Expect the construction area on the Broughton Road to remain closed for at least the next 4 months.
