Woodway PSD receives Texas Law Enforcement Recognition again

Mayor Don Baker and the Woodway City Council would like to announce the Re-recognition of the Woodway Public Safety Department by the Best Practices Recognition Program for the Texas Law Enforcement Recognition Program. Monday evening at the Woodway City Council meeting, Chief Marlin Price (Ret), the Program Director, made the presentation to Assistant Chief Robert Smith and Captain Bret Crook. There are over 2800 law enforcement agencies in the state of Texas; only 83 of those have reached recognition status. With 165 standards to meet, the Best Practices Recognition Program has become the new goal standard for law enforcement agencies in Texas. The Woodway Public Safety Department first achieved “Recognized Status” in 2009 and became only the 16th law enforcement agency in Texas to reach “re-recognition” status for maintaining excellence continuously for the past 5 year period.
