Take a Stand Against Crime at a National Night Out Event Near You. Going On Now! #LASD
Tuesday August 6, 2013 is National Night Out. A night where communities across America promote involvement in crime prevention activities, police-community partnerships, neighborhood camaraderie and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
Century Station invites the community to attend a National Night Out event near you. The city of Lynwood will be hosting their event on Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd between Bullis Rd and Hulme Ave from 5:30pm-8:30pm. Join the Fire and Sheriff’s Departments, community and civic leaders in an evening of information booths, health screenings, music and entertainment for the kids.
Two events are planned in the Florence/Firestone District from 5pm-8pm. One will be on Nadeau St between Compton Ave and Antwerp Ave and the other on Whitsett Ave between Nadeau St and 76th St. Residents are encouraged to turn their lights on as they welcome Century Sheriff’s Station’s Captain Joseph M. Gooden and other community leaders for an evening of fun and games, free food, music, a flashlight walk, and more.
