Riley FD receives Indiana Homeland Security Foundation Grant
Riley Fire Department received notification today of its award of a $4000.00 Indiana Homeland Security Foundation Grant. This grant will be used to purchase additional hydraulic tools to assist in the rescue of trapped victims in vehicles and machinery. This equipment is part of a larger department goal of obtaining an Operations and Technician Level validation in Indiana’s Technical Rescue program in the Vehicle/Machinery category. Training requirements for personnel in Operations has already been completed and additional Technician level training in planned in the near future.
Riley Fire Department would like to encourage all Hoosiers to purchase the Secure Indiana License Plate as a way to say Thanks to Hoosier First Responders. The fee to receive a "Secure Indiana" license plate is only $40, in addition to your normal vehicle registration and excise fees. Of the $40 fee, the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicle retains $15 for administrative costs with the remaining $25 going directly to the Foundation. By paying a small fee and purchasing a "Secure Indiana" license plate, you can make a big impact by assisting Indiana’s first responders who help protect your loved ones, your neighbors and you. Declare your dedication to a "Secure Indiana" today!
Riley Fire Department has now received two foundation grants totaling $8000.00.
