PRESS RELEASE: Warsaw Police serve warrant for Child Solicitation and Dissemination of Matter Harmful to Minors.

Yesterday afternoon, August 8, 2013, Warsaw Police Detectives served a search warrant and arrest warrants after investigating a report that an adult male forced two young girls, ages 7 and 8, to watch pornographic videos and look at pornographic pictures last Saturday at the suspects apartment near downtown Warsaw. The male reportedly also exposed his genitals to the girls. The girls are family friends of the suspect and his wife. Warsaw Police arrested Joseph A. Sturgill, 31 years of age, of 221 S. High Street, Apartment C, Warsaw, IN on two charges of child solicitation and one charge of dissemination of matter harmful to minors, all class D felonies. Investigators seized the suspect’s cell phone and more charges are expected for a separate indecent exposure incident involving an adult female. Police believe that other indecent exposure incidents have occurred involving the suspect and are asking that anyone with information contact the Warsaw Police Investigations Division at 574-372-9531.
Warsaw Police were assisted in their investigation by the North Webster Police Department, Indiana Department of Child Services, and the Kosciusko County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
