CITIZEN ROBBERY
LAUREL
On Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at approximately 1:50 a.m., officers from the Western District responded to the unit block of Bruce Street in Laurel for a reported robbery of a citizen.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with the 21-year-old male victim, who stated that two suspects approached him on Route 198 near Red Clay Road and demanded property. The victim refused and the suspects then assaulted him, removed items belonging to him and fled the area towards the Maryland City Plaza.
The victim suffered some injuries, but refused medical treatment. Officers searched the area, but were unable to locate the suspects. (descriptions below)
Detectives from the Western District continue to investigate three similar robberies that have taken place since August 7, 2013, in the immediate vicinity of the Tall Oaks Apartments in Laurel.
The Police Department has increased patrols in the area and detectives are following up on leads.
