Double congratulations for CPD Marine Officer Funchion, who completed the third tier of his Triple Crown Tuesday by swimming across the Catalina Channel in the unofficial time of 11:59.57.
Nial’s swim raised funds for the “Brotherhood for the Fallen” which helps fellow Chicago officers who travel the country to assist families of police officers killed in the line of duty. Nial received local recognition prior to his Catalina Channel swim attempt, which can be viewed at:
