Man Arrested for Carrying Loaded Pistol Tues. Night, City Terrace Park, 1126 Hazard Av, East LA #LASD @ParksLASD


A male adult walking through City Terrace Park at 11:30PM Tuesday night was stopped by Sheriff’s Parks Bureau deputies so they could warn and advise him regarding the hours that the park was open.

During the contact the deputies discovered that the male adult was in possession of a loaded .40 caliber Springfield firearm.

The suspect was immediately arrested and booked at East Los Angeles Sheriff's Station for possession of a concealed loaded firearm. The deputies identified the suspect as Christopher Edward Barrera 23 years old, a resident of Los Angeles.

City Terrace Park hours of operations are from Sunrise to Sunset.

Offenses such as possession of loaded firearms are rare in the Los Angeles County Parks. But when they do arise, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Parks Bureau is dedicated to providing a safe and gun free environment at all Los Angeles County Parks.
