CROWNSVILLE/ANNAPOLIS FALL TRAFFIC ADVISORY REMINDER... RenFest;Football;Boats;Fall Events; etc.
The Anne Arundel County Police Department would like to advise the public of possible traffic delays in the Crownsville and Annapolis areas on each Saturday and Sunday starting this weekend, August 24th and 25th through the Fall months.
In the past, Fall weekends have brought heavy traffic to the area due the annual special events that attract area residents and visitors to our area.
These events include the Maryland Renaissance Festival in Crownsville; Navy home Football games and Annapolis Boat Shows in Annapolis; and a variety of other special events during this time of year.
Motorists can expect delays from about late morning into the afternoon on these weekend days through out this time frame.
Historically, traffic delays have been experienced during these times on Route 50 in the Parole and Annapolis areas; Route 97, north and southbound approaching the Generals Highway exit; on Route 450; and in the South Haven Drive areas.
If you live or plan on traveling through this area during these times; please allow extra travel time, don't be surprised by the traffic congestion, drive safely, and be proud that so many people enjoy visiting our county.
