RE: Fatal Motorcycle Crash
Warsaw Police and Kosciusko County FACT (Fatal Alcohol Crash Team) are investigating an early Sunday morning motorcycle crash that claimed the life of its driver. Emergency personnel responded to a 911 call in the 700 block of West Center Street, west of downtown Warsaw, around 1:21 a.m. for a motorcycle that had struck a parked pick-up truck. Upon arriving, emergency personnel located Larry R. Templeton, 55 years old, of Warsaw, IN., and a 2000 Harley Davidson motorcycle lying in the road. The FACT investigation showed that Templeton was eastbound on Center Street and collided with the front of a parked 1999 Ford F250 pick-up truck, belonging to Charles Allen, of Tippecanoe, IN. The impact ejected Templeton from the motorcycle and he was not wearing a helmet. Both speed and alcohol appear to be factors in the crash. Witnesses that heard the crash told police that “he was getting on it” immediately before the crash. The crash remains under investigation by FACT. Warsaw Police and Kosciusko County FACT were assisted by the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory, Multi Township EMS, and the Kosciusko County Coroner’s Office.
