Fire trucks pass annual service test.
Riley Fire Department hosted multiple agencies during the performance of annual fire pump testing. Apparatus from several departments, including Riley FD, were tested to ensure the fire pumps are functioning properly and deliver the volume of water they are designed to deliver.
This service testing is recommended to be performed annually by the National Fire Protection Association and the Insurance Service Office. “It is vital that fire pumps operate properly at all times as their failure during emergency operations can result in the loss of life and property, this test is one part of an ongoing process to ensure their reliability”, said Fire Chief Jeff Fox.
Hoosier Fire Equipment of Indianapolis Indiana provided the certification and equipment to perform the tests. A total of 9 trucks were tested over two days and all passed.
