Burglary Suspects Arrested
On August 28, 2013, at approximately 11:20 a.m., Cypress Police Officers were dispatched to the 10400 Block of Santa Clara in regards to a residential burglary that had just occurred. A witness to the crime observed two male black suspects run from the victim residence and leave the scene in a black Cadillac which was also occupied by a male black. The suspects had entered the residence by prying open a bedroom window.
While responding to this call, a Cypress Police Officer located the suspect vehicle near the intersection of Norwalk and Carson. The vehicle attempted to evade the officer by quickly parking in a nearby parking lot. The occupants of the vehicle fled the vehicle on foot and ran into a residential neighborhood. With the assistance of several nearby police agencies, a perimeter was established and two of the suspects were located and taken into custody without incident. The third suspect is still outstanding. No further detail is available on the outstanding suspect.
Reginald Lias (D.O.B. 1-20-87) and Jamell Murry (D.O.B. 1-24-87) were both placed under arrest for violation of P.C. 459 – Burglary and P.C. 148(a)(1) – Resisting or Delaying Arrest. Both suspects were booked at the Orange County Jail and are being held on $50,000 bail. All of the stolen property was returned to the victim.
